Our Story
Built to Serve Families and Communities
We live in a time when it has become far too easy for people to feel invisible. Yet we have come to believe, with quiet certainty, that no one should have to carry the weight of life alone.
Cedrik has spent his life as a chef in Zurich, where the daily rhythm of his work has only deepened his conviction that human beings are fundamentally connected. He has seen, again and again, that the greatest need people carry is not material — it is the need to be seen, to matter, and to know they are not forgotten. This truth has become the foundation of everything we do: we need each other. Not occasionally, but at all times. It is the first rule of being human.
Karisha, a resident of the United States and One in the growing local population of Tulsa, has witnessed this need up close in Tulsa. She has seen neighbors and families facing hardship while carrying their struggles in silence. She has watched people do everything in their power to hold on, often without anyone to stand beside them. And she reached a point where she could no longer look away.
From different parts of the world, we began asking the same question: What if we stopped waiting for someone else to act? What if we chose, together, to become the help we wished existed for the people right in front of us?
That question became CK Community Initiative Foundation.
We started with a simple promise — that we would take every opportunity we were given to remind someone in Tulsa that they are seen and valued. We would offer direct support with dignity. We would show up with resources, with partnership, and with care. And we would do it one act at a time.
What began as a shared decision between two people has grown into a grassroots organization rooted in Tulsa, guided by the belief that when we choose to show up for one another, we do more than meet immediate needs. We restore something essential: the quiet knowledge that no one has to face their hardest days alone.
These principles guide every decision we make and every step we take:
We Are Made for Each Other:
We believe connection is not a luxury — it is a fundamental human need. Our work exists to remind people that they matter and that they do not have to walk through difficulty in isolation.
Dignity Above All:
Every person we encounter carries inherent worth. We treat everyone with the respect, honor, and compassion they deserve, never reducing someone to their circumstances.
Compassion in Motion:
We do not believe in passive goodwill. True compassion moves — into action, into partnership, and into the lives of those who need it most. We show up with resources, presence, and unwavering commitment.
One Act at a Time:
We do not wait for perfect conditions or unlimited resources. We believe that small, consistent acts of kindness, offered with intention and heart, have the power to transform lives and strengthen entire communities. This is how we choose to create change.
